ABOUT JACK NOLAN
Jack Nolan is a Sydney-based singer-songwriter whose music moves through poetic folk, alt-country and atmospheric folk-rock. Across more than three decades of writing and recording, he has built a substantial catalogue centred on strong songs, mood and storytelling, with eight studio albums and a live EP to his name.
In the early 2000s, Nolan fronted The Kelly Gang as lead singer and principal songwriter, working alongside musicians with backgrounds in Midnight Oil, Hoodoo Gurus and other notable Australian acts. His current work includes Tell It to the Birds, a live acoustic project recorded at Curb Studios in Nashville, bringing an Australian songwriter’s perspective to songs shaped by intimacy, atmosphere and a strong sense of place.
Nolan continues to perform regularly in Australia, with further Australian dates and U.S. performances planned for April 2027. He is available for solo performances, intimate venues, songwriter rooms, support slots and selected regional or interstate dates.

The Lonely Petunia — Current LP
Tell It to the Birds - Live Acoustic Sessions
Released October 2025, The Lonely Petunia marks a defining further move toward Nolan’s acoustic, poetic and alt-folk/country sound — intimate, atmospheric songs with storytelling at their centre.
Out 13 November, Tell It to the Birds was recorded live at Curb Studios in Nashville with longtime collaborator and producer Justin Weaver, capturing Nolan in a stripped-back and intimate acoustic setting where songcraft, voice and feel take centre stage.

Mind the Gap
Faded Blue
Forthcoming, Mind the Gap pushes Nolan’s songwriting into a bolder late-’60s/early-’70s folk-rock frame, with acoustic and electric guitars, big live drums and a sharper rock edge. At times it also echoes the spirit and energy of his earlier Kelly Gang work, while still leaving room for the intimate acoustic side heard on The Lonely Petunia, along with a little more humour and looseness than recent records. Direct and questioning, the songs keep melody, story and atmosphere at their centre.
Set for release in March 2027 alongside Nolan’s U.S. dates, Faded Blue returns to the intimate storytelling and poetic atmosphere of The Lonely Petunia, while opening the arrangements into a broader, fuller sound. Rooted in folk and alt-country, the record keeps character, place and melody at its centre, with many of the songs also forming part of Nolan’s duo performances in the U.S.
